December Reading Wrap Up

We’ve finally reached the end of 2020! How exciting! Our wrap up this month is kind of boring because we didn’t do much in December other than suffer through finals. We hope everyone had fantastic holidays and we want to wish you all a happy new year!

Books Read:

Malka:

This wasn’t the greatest reading month for me, but I’m going to blame that on finals. I read 4 books, two of which were really short graphic novel/comics. I’m in middle of several books that I’m enjoying, (and some that are just meh) so hopefully I’ll have a lot more to say in January once I finish those!

Rating: 4 out of 5.

I am so happy that I gave Rebekah Weatherspoon another chance with Xeni! This book was absolutely ridiculous but just what I needed to make me smile and to get me through finals!

Meanwhile, How I Broke Up With My Colon is a bunch of illustrated stories about strange or unusual medical stories that the author gathered from a variety of people. Some stories were great, but overall I gave it a 3.5 star rating, which I rounded up to 4 stars because it made me laugh.

Rating: 3 out of 5.

Make a Scene was really cute, but it took me a while to finish and had a bit too much miscommunication for my liking.

Happily Ever After was also really cute and made me smile, but it was very similar to Soppy, which I definitely prefer!

Chana:

I read 5 books this month! 4 out of those 5 were rereads, and I try not to rerate rereads so I’m not going to list any of them here.

Rating: 4 out of 5.

Books Acquired:

Purchased:

When you eventually see our 2020 reading stats, you shouldn’t be surprised to find out that romance was my most read genre. Which explains why I purchased 3 new romances for myself. As you saw, I already read Xeni, and honestly, I’m saving the other two for my next semester when I’ll have the greatest need for pure cuteness and fluff. I also purchased the 3rd volume in the Spy Family manga series, because I’m planning on reading volumes 2 and 3 (and possibly 4) all together at some point this year!

Gifted:

Chana was kind enough to gift me with this adorable little comic collection about the small moments of love. I was so happy to have it on hand to read when I had a stressful day!

NetGalley:

I requested Enjoy the View on a whim because I had seen good things about the series and it looked really cute! Once I got approved, I decided to read the first 2 books in this companion series, so hopefully I can manage to read all 3 of the books in the series before Enjoy the View comes out and I need to review it! Wish me luck!

As for Honey Girl, I requested that book MONTHS ago and had already resigned myself to the fact that I wouldn’t get a copy and then to my utter disbelief, I got an email saying that I had been approved! I’m still freaking out about this, and I will definitely be starting this book sometime this month! I just can’t wait to share my thoughts with all of you!

People have been telling me to read this book for agggesss, so I finally caved and bought it! I’m so excited to read it to see if it lives up to the hype.

Things We Did:

Nothinggggg! We had finals, we died, we’re boring.

Posts We Loved:

Like we mentioned in our last wrap up, this section is on hold until January, since we haven’t been blog hopping. Hopefully we’ll be more active in the coming weeks! Feel free to drop a post that we missed in the comments for us to check out!

How was the last month of 2020 for you? Do you have any posts you want to share with us? What was your favorite book you read this month?

  2. I’m actually happy that you guys took your finals so seriously and made school a final priority for 2020. I know how hard it is around the holidays especially to have to dig in to study. Here’s to hoping you can find excellent books you love this year!

    1. Honestly, as much as I love blogging and try to make as much time for it as possible school is almost always my priority! Thankfully we both made it through finals, and won’t have to deal with those again until the end of next semester!

Thank you! I hope you find some wonderful books that you absolutely adore this year as well! 💕
