Welcome to our April wrap up! We have quite a few books to share with you this month since we had spring break! Unfortunately said break (and Malka being sick over said break) was also the cause of our sporadic posting and interaction the second half of the month. We’d promise that next month will be better, but with upcoming finals we’ll make no such promises! As usual, all covers link to Goodreads!
Books Read:
Malka:
I had a really fantastic reading month! Besides for the number of books read, I also touched upon some goals of mine and read a few anticipated releases!
I finished up Strange the Dreamer after starting it in January, finally got to King of Scars, and read Little Fires Everywhere after having it on my shelf for MONTHS! I read Small Town Hearts, The Boy Who Steals Houses, and Serious Moonlight within a month of their release. And I managed to read two review books! You can see my review for a Prince on Paper here, while my review for The Flatshare will be up at the end of May!

Chana:
Despite having spring break, this month my reading is one of the lowest its been since the beginning of the year. I mean. Maybe not. I am being a little dramatic. But I’m only the littlest bit bitter since I wanted to reach 100 books read this month. Imagine my horror upon realizing that I had 3 days left to read 5 books. Needless to say, I did not meet my goal, leaving me with 22/26 books read. But I did read some fantastic books this month that I’m super happy about!
I managed to read all the Alice Oseman books I could get my hands on (curse UK vs. American publishing), and I read A Lite Too Bright, which was absolutely fantastic and not what I was expecting at all!

Books Acquired:
Malka:
Purchased:
I know 3 books doesn’t seem like very many, but to me this is a buying spree! I got Starry Eyes from the Uppercase promotion to get signed books for $5. (It didn’t include shipping, but oh well, it’s Jenn Bennett.) And I bought both Serious Moonlight and If I’m Being Honest on vacation! I only managed to read Serious Moonlight so far, but If I’m Being Honest is top priority for May!
NetGalley:
I was super excited to read A Prince on Paper book after finishing a Duke by Default and I’m so glad I was approved to read and review this one! You can read my review here!
And just a few days ago I got approved for Prom-Wrecked, which comes out in less than a week, but sounds like a lot of fun!
Chana:
I went on an actual buying spree this month. Though I did pre-order The Boy Who Steals Houses so it’s not technically an April purchase, I did go crazy in the used books section at the Strand. I mean $1 books! How could I resist??
Things We Did:
This month was woefully uneventful. We did not do much. Certainly not anything book related.
Although Malka did start buying some book sleeves for herself after Chana introduced her to this wonderful creation!
I bought two this month. The first one I bought from Belle’s Book Sleeves to transport some of my books when I went on vacation. It’s so cute and worked wonderfully!
The second one I bought from With A Book Sleeve after we became reps! I figured another book sleeve couldn’t hurt. Even though it didn’t arrive before I left on vacation (since I ordered it too late) I can’t wait to use it in the future! If you’re considering buying a book sleeve you can use PAPER10 to get 10% off your purchase if you see a pattern you like!

Vacation does wonders for my reading! I flew through The Boy Who Steals Houses! It was so good! And I thought Small Town Hearts was super cute and soft, but honestly if was the baked goods that truly stole my heart! And I made a trip specifically to Barnes & Noble to pick up If I’m Being Honest! And then promptly didn’t read it 😆 But I’m hoping to read it over the weekend! I’m so excited!

Hey, thank you so much for including my post in your wrap up! 💕
I love Radio Silence, so I’m glad you enjoyed it, Chana! I just started reading Strange the Dreamer, and I’m only a few pages in but I’m excited! I’m so happy you gave it 5 Stars, Malka! I’m also excited to read it because… I haven’t read anything since the beginning of March. *hides in a corner* School has been extremely busy for me, and I just haven’t had the motivation to read or blog lately (sorry, that’s also why I’m getting to this post so late!).
But anyways, I’m glad you both seemed to have a good April! I hope your May is going well, and I hope this month is everything you want it to be! Happy reading!

Of course! I really enjoyed it!
I hope you love Strange the Dreamer as much as I did! I can’t wait until I have time to pick up Muse of Nightmares! I totally understand the feeling of not being able to read because of school! I had that exact same problem last year! And even Strange the Dreamer took me 4 months to finish because of how busy I was this semester!
I definitely hope things get easier for you school-wise and that your blogging motivation returns! Have a wonderful rest of May!
