February Reading Wrap Up

flo .header

It’s time again for our monthly wrap-up! We discuss the books we read, the things we did, and the posts we loved! This month was super busy for such a short month, so there’s a lot of fun things for us to discuss!

At this point we have officially completed our first month of spring semester, which means that it’s time for exams to start. It was around this time last fall that we went on a slight hiatus due to our school workloads, but we’ll see how we hold up this time around!

P. S. All covers link to Goodreads.

Books Read:

Malka:

I read 9 books this month! Not bad for February! I also have a review up for The Art of French Kissing with one coming in the next few weeks for Eyes on Me!

Shout out to Marie for praising I Was Born for This so much because it was one of my favorites this month!

Chana:

I know that February is the shortest month of the year, but it seemed to take FOREVER! I read so much this month (26 whole books!) and to be honest I can barely remember reading half of it? Like oh, that was this month?

My reading from this month was filled with re-reads. Which was nice, since it’s always fun to return to old favorites rather than go through the decision making of which book on your TBR you should read now.

Books Acquired:

Malka:

You Asked for Perfect Four Dead Queens

Thank you so much to Sourcebooks Fire for sending us an early copy of You Asked for Perfect! I’m so excited to have a physical copy of this book! I nearly cried when I received the package. You should definitely check out my gushing review of this book and get yourself a copy when it releases on March 5th!

As for Four Dead Queens, you can hear more about how I acquired that one in the Things We Did section!

I’d like to extend a thank you to my parents who indulge my book obsession, for getting me The Gilded Wolves and Emergency Contact this month. They’ve come to fear mentioning when they’re going to Barnes and Noble because each time I find out they’re there I send a whole list of books I want.

I also got the All for the Game series! As you might know, I don’t read synopses so I have *no idea* what it’s about, regardless I’m still excited because I have heard many good things!

Things We Did:

2019-02-28 19.32.59

We went to the launch party for Four Dead Queens! This was a cool event where we got to meet the author, get our book signed, talk to other book nerds,  and eat cake! What could be better?

It was so fun being there and talking with so many other bookish people, we can’t wait to read Four Dead Queens, it looks amazing!

Blog Accomplishments:

This was a really awesome month for us blogwise and we wanted to thank you all for helping us achieve all of this!

We were the featured bloggers for the February Discussion Challenge that Nicole and Shannon run. This was really exciting and helped new people discover our blog! (Also, you can still link up and enter the giveaway.)

We got our first ARC from a publisher! This is still kind of surreal, but I reached out saying how much I enjoyed You Asked for Perfect and got sent an ARC of it!

We reached 2100 followers on Instagram!

We had our most viewed day in the history of stats! It’s kind of crazy to us that in these first two months of 2019, we’re outpacing ourselves in the amounts of comments and views we got in the 6 months we blogged in 2018! I guess it makes sense for interaction to go down when you take a really long hiatus. But it’s nice to know it goes back up once you start posting again regularly!

We turned our Debate Its into a monthly thing after seeing how much everyone enjoyed seeing the two of us argue. If you have any suggestions for future months we’d love to hear them!

  1. I was also accepted for my first arc in February, it’s such a surreal feeling? I’m so happy for you! 26 books is like a book a day this is IMPRESSIVE! I’d be curious to hear what made you rate Captive Prince so low as I’ve pretty much only heard good things about it but haven’t personally read it! 🙂 I hope you both have an amazing March!

    1. Thank you! Honestly, I think I was just unprepared for the Captive Prince? I had heard good things too, but there was just a looot of rapey questionable things going on in it that made me uncomfortable. To be completely honest, I think the series gets better with each book, and I actually enjoyed the last one!

  2. It would have made me very uncomfortable too, I totally understand! I probably won’t pick it up, I’d heard a couple people mention it a while ago and it clearly seems to be a thing and that’s a big no from me. I’m glad you did enjoy the last one though, I can’t imagine reading three books I didn’t enjoy (I’d have given up at book 1 probably haha)

  3. You guys read so many good books in February! I’m dying to read The Fever King so I’m glad to see you gave it 5/5 stars. I also noticed that you’re reading the Red Rising series. I read that series a few months ago an really enjoyed it. I hope you enjoy Morning Star as much as the last two!

  5. I would love to have attended the launch party for Four Dead Queens. I read and loved this book and the world and characters need to be in a companion novel. I wish we had more book launch parties for me to attend close by.

    1. I haven’t read the book yet but I’ve heard such good thing, so I’m very glad I was able to attend the launch party! I’m aware that I’m really lucky to live someplace that has so many great bookish events nearby! I hope that there’s an awesome book event near you sometime soon!
